Click on these icons to move
forward or backward a single record. Or go to the first or last record of the database.
You can also click navigate on the Menu Bar to perform the same functions.
TRY THIS: Open your inventory database and click
the Toggle/Browse icon
to view a single record. Use the
navigation arrows to look at some different records in the database. Go to the first and
last record in the database. Click the Toggle/Browse icon
again to view a list of records.
Click on the sort icon. A pop-up
window will appear. Select Entry Order and click OK. The records a now sorted in entry
order. Click on the last record navigation arrow. You will see the last record that was
entered.
With the inventory database open click on
the find icon. A search criteria window will pop-up:
Enter W in the name field, and click find. When the find is complete you will
see a window with all the records starting with a W like the one below.
Since we did a find for all records starting with a W you can only see those in
the window. We set a boundary. Whenever a boundary is set a black line runs through the
boundary icon like the one on the left. To be able to see all the records in the database
again click on the boundary icon and the vertical black line will disappear. Now you have
unrestricted access to the database.
TRY THIS: Find all records beginning with
ACETONE. Click the Toggle/Browse icon to return to single record view. Use your navigation
arrows to browse through the records. Remember, because a boundary is set you can only see
the ACETONE records. After you are done remove the boundary by clicking on the boundary
icon.
Click the Add icon. You will see a blank facility record.
The Facility name field is highlighted. Type the name of
the facility in this field.
Use the Tab key to go to the next field, and the required
data. Tab to the Ownership date field.
Click the pop-up button to the right of this field.
Remember that a pop-up button has a link to another database. In this case you can
select a date.
Continue to enter all the required information on page 1 either by typing it in
the fields or if possible by selecting from a pop-up list.
A facility record is made up of 3 pages. Click on Page 2 and Page 3 to enter more
data.
To save data in a record click the Save icon. Click OK to
confirm.
TRY THIS:
Create some more
facility records. Always use the pop-up tables to select from. If your choice is not
available you can add them to the list.
Find the WD-40 inventory record. If you forgot how, return to the Finding Records
section on this page.
To see a record in single record view double-click the WD-40 record.
Click the edit icon. See how the color changes of the data compared to a saved
record.
The first highlighted field is for responsible person. Click on the pop-up button
next to the field. Select a different name and click OK.
Click the save icon to save the changes. Click OK to confirm.
TRY THIS: Find the Acetone inventory
record. Change the Unit of Measure to gallon. Click the cancel
icon. No changes were made to the record. When you click the cancel icon the record will
revert back to the way it was before you started working on it.
Click the Toggle/Browse icon to go to single record view.
Select the first record in the database by using the navigation arrows.
Click the clone icon. See how the color changes of the data compared to a saved
record.
The first highlighted field is for facility name. Enter a new facility name and
address.
Click the save icon to save the changes. Click OK to confirm.
TRY THIS: Return to the inventory database and
clone an inventory record. A pop-up window will ask you if you want to use the default
employee from location. Click No and select a new responsible person using the pop-up
button. Save the cloned record.
Click the Toggle/Browse icon if needed to return to single record view.
Use your navigation arrow to go the end of the database.
The record data in the bottom right-hand corner indicates when this record was
added. Verify that this is the last date a record was entered into the database.
Click the delete icon. Click OK to confirm.
NOTE: Once you click the delete icon the record
is permanently removed from the database and cannot be retrieved.
Find the CHLORINE inventory record. If you forgot how, return to the Finding
Records section on this page.
To see the record in single record view double-click the CHLORINE record.
Click the print icon.
Click print to confirm.
Select All for print range.
Select 1 for number of copies.
Click OK.
TRY THIS: Click the print icon again. This time
click Preview. You will see a preview screen of how the record will be printed if you
proceed. Click the exit icon
and you will return to the single record view.
